Hey ya'll! Just finished 21 Day Fix and I am super excited to share my results with you!
You might be wondering, what is 21 Day Fix?
It is one of Beachbody On Demands many programs. This one offers 21 days of workouts and eating guide.
I recently reviewed the Country Heat program I did last month where I seriously lost 3.5" just line dancing for 30 min a day and not really changing too much on my diet. This time we decided to do 21 Day Fix which required a little more effort than Country Heat and that is what I was looking for. I was looking to step it up a little... not a whole bunch, but a little.
The Workouts
The trainers name is Autumn and like all Beachbody workouts you can do the workouts whenever it works best for you. I chose to do my workouts after work, in my office. Each workout is 30 min and you do one every day of the week. There is an "active recovery day" which consists of yoga. There is also an option to do "doubles" ( two workouts for a total of one hour ) but I only did doubles a few times on the last week. You do need a set or two of weights OR a resistant band. I used 2.5 lb weights to start and ended with 5 lb weights. You can also use a workout mat if you'd like, but I didn't find that necessary on my carpet.
In a nutshell you do a specific motion in 1 min increments. For example, you would do as many crunches you can in one minute. You can slow down, but never stop! There are some motions that you only need to do for 30 seconds and you always get 20 seconds of rest between rounds.
I didn't find the workout overly complicated or difficult. Don't get me wrong, some moves are more strenuous than others and I like to modify A LOT! Shout out to Kat! Woot woot! I didn't find myself bored with the program during the 21 days and I liked the variety of workouts during the week.
The Eating Guide
The eating guide is based on your weight. Once you figure out how much you can eat you follow a certain number of portions. Those portions are measured with color coded cups.
For example I get 2 fruits a day, so I get two purple cups filled with fruit, nothing more, nothing less. It's actually really easy and has an app to keep track of your food and workouts. I quickly realized I was eating waayyyyyy too many carbs in the past. I also realized that if I ate the proper balance of foods I felt more full and had less cravings.
The App
Not only does the app stream your workouts, it tracks everything. Including your workouts, portion cups, weight, measurements, progress photos, water, shakeology and so much more.
The app is also where you get access to your BOD Group! The group is honestly one of the best parts. This is where you share everything you are experiencing, with the group of ladies that are going through the same program as you are!
I am currently running a BOD Group with 3 ladies in it and we all agree that having each others support has help tremendously.
The Results
Because this program was more involved than Country Heat, I used weights and I followed the eating guide for 21 Days ( for the most part ... hello dark chocolate ) I was able to loose an additional 5.5" this month!
That is a total of 9 inches lost in the last 2 months. I still have not weighed myself... and that is cool with me because I am happy to see my inches going down. Back in January when I was in the Jeep all day traveling to Big Sur my pants were suffocating me and very uncomfortable! I noticed in February while traveling to Lake Tahoe my pants fit looser and were sooooooo much more comfortable. For that I am grateful.
